Our Boatload of Dreams.....

Welcome to Our Place Called Simplicity.

We invite you into our lives with one goal in mind: that you would be encouraged to live simply and truly love one another.

Married for 33 years, we are the parents of many. Eleven {so far} children. Eight of whom are adopted. We also have four sons and a daughter that we are parents of in Uganda as well. They were raised on the streets and had no parents until we "adopted" them 3+ years ago. So we really have sixteen children total {with more on the way}.

After 7+ weeks in Uganda, Emma {18} and I recently returned to the United States with our newest addition - a baby girl named Ruby Grace. Dw and Emma were leading a missions team in June 2011 where they had the privilege of meeting Ruby - a tiny 11 month old gem weighing only 6 lbs.

Our oldest daughter Abigail and her husband finally{!} allowed us the privilege of being Mimi and Jaja by bringing us our very first grand baby {from Uganda}...making us now, officially, a multi-generational adoptive family. Proof that adoption is a very, very good thing!

We've had the privilege of adopting our treasures from all over the world, some dubbed "special needs" we are convinced that the only TRUE special need a child has is to have a family.

Our peers are empty nesters, but we are certain that given this option to any orphan - "old mom and dad" or "no mom and dad", all would still vote for the old ones. So here we are - the old ones....doing it again....

If you are need of encouragement or wonder if God is able to move your mountain, please head over to the sidebar where Special Posts are listed. Start at Our Wild Adventure Part 1. You will be reminded of Almighty God's deep love for the orphan and how He will move mountains on their behalf....we call Him the Miracle-Working, Mountain-Moving, Awe-Inspiring, Gasp-Giving God!! Yippee Jesus!!

I am humbled beyond words and ever so grateful that the Lord is fulfilling a promise He gave me way back in 1982..."making the barren woman to be at home - the joyful mother of children" (Psalms 113:9). How I praise His name!!

Silverton, Colorado

Last week we went to Silverton, Colorado. It was one of Dw's first outings - we LOVE Silverton and love the drive and love the views. On the way up there I pulled over the car. Dw said, "What are you doing?" I said, "I have to get a shot of this drive to show all my bloggy friends, especially for the ones who don't live in the mountains!" Is it gorgeous, or what?We always stop at Molas Pass to enjoy the scenery.

Once at Silverton we were trying to figure out where to eat. By the time we got to Silverton Elijah was not a very happy camper..... (snacks on the drive, doesn't matter, when it's time to eat he's starving)

Thought with how happy Elijah was that it would be appropriate to eat here...Isaiah's legs were bothering him so much since surgery that he always wanted them elevated to help alleviate the pain....but he smiles regardless...Oh yeah, he's happy.....And playing in ketchup....the only way it gets better than that ...Just this way.....

What cute pictures. Silverton is one of our all time favorite places in Colorado to go to. We hate that it is so far away from us.

HI Linny! What a sweet family you have! We live in Denver and I felt the same way about Silverton, Colorado! We took our kids on a Colorado tour when we moved here from Seattle 18 (gasp!) years ago. I'm glad I found your blog!

These pictures were great! Brought back some memories from our honeymoon there....it was January and snowing and I learned to REALLY trust my husband as he was driving those curvy, on the side of the mountain roads! :)

Spectacular views! Lord willing, I hope to either live in the mountains (or in close proximity to them) one day. They're so majestic...such a beauty in God's creation.

You've done an awesome job at capturing memorable moments with your family that will certainly be cherished as your children grow throughout the years. Life and family are such wonderful blessings.

Love to you all!
Tina

My first time posting a comment, but wanted to say I enjoy your blog and lovely family. I'll be participating in the fast from the lovely mountains of Virginia. I know I'd want that for me if I were sick. I pray God works mightily through all the people who love Him.

The scenery is beautiful, but God's real beauty is wrapped in the smiles of your family.

You continue to inspire and challenge me as I learn to walk in His calling on my life, as wife and mommy.

Hugs from Costa Rica,

What absolutely gorgeous pics. Goodness, we live right here in Co, and I have seen so little of the state. So bad.
I absolutely adore Isaiah--Linny, I don't think I have ever seen that boy without a smile on his little face. He is amazing.

BIG DAY tomorrow, friend. PRAYING!!!

Your pictures are beautiful and brought back many memories of camping at Molas Lake. We have been thinking about heading that way for my 30th birthday, but not sure if the 8 hour drive each way is worth going just for a weekend! I am tempted now more than ever!
