Our Boatload of Dreams.....

Welcome to Our Place Called Simplicity.

We invite you into our lives with one goal in mind: that you would be encouraged to live simply and truly love one another.

Married for 33 years, we are the parents of many. Eleven {so far} children. Eight of whom are adopted. We also have four sons and a daughter that we are parents of in Uganda as well. They were raised on the streets and had no parents until we "adopted" them 3+ years ago. So we really have sixteen children total {with more on the way}.

After 7+ weeks in Uganda, Emma {18} and I recently returned to the United States with our newest addition - a baby girl named Ruby Grace. Dw and Emma were leading a missions team in June 2011 where they had the privilege of meeting Ruby - a tiny 11 month old gem weighing only 6 lbs.

Our oldest daughter Abigail and her husband finally{!} allowed us the privilege of being Mimi and Jaja by bringing us our very first grand baby {from Uganda}...making us now, officially, a multi-generational adoptive family. Proof that adoption is a very, very good thing!

We've had the privilege of adopting our treasures from all over the world, some dubbed "special needs" we are convinced that the only TRUE special need a child has is to have a family.

Our peers are empty nesters, but we are certain that given this option to any orphan - "old mom and dad" or "no mom and dad", all would still vote for the old ones. So here we are - the old ones....doing it again....

If you are need of encouragement or wonder if God is able to move your mountain, please head over to the sidebar where Special Posts are listed. Start at Our Wild Adventure Part 1. You will be reminded of Almighty God's deep love for the orphan and how He will move mountains on their behalf....we call Him the Miracle-Working, Mountain-Moving, Awe-Inspiring, Gasp-Giving God!! Yippee Jesus!!

I am humbled beyond words and ever so grateful that the Lord is fulfilling a promise He gave me way back in 1982..."making the barren woman to be at home - the joyful mother of children" (Psalms 113:9). How I praise His name!!

Can you Hear us Yippee Jesus(ing) From Where You Live?

Just yesterday as the kids and I were getting ready for church Elizabeth was playing with an old (real) cell phone. She came to me and as she clicked it shut said, "Mommy, it was Jubilee. She said you need to come and pick her up." I got all teary-eyed and said, "Elizabeth, let's pray that you are prophetic!"

Today, while I was in the back doing laundry I heard Emma say, "Mom, your cell is ringing and the number is from an 859 area code." OH MY GRACIOUS ANSWER IT!!!

It was Rita from the agency. She said, "We have some good news!" I was crying before she could say anything more. Jesus, you are sooooo good to us!! After learning that, indeed, China has granted us Travel Approval to come get our sweet Jubilee I said through a boatload of tears, "Rita, you know how scripture says "Beautiful are the feet of him/her who brings good news?" She said she knew. I said, "Well Rita - I'm guessing that your feet are absolutely gorgeous!!"

Yippee Jesus!! Yippee Jesus!! Yippee Jesus!!

To God be The Glory Great Things He has Done!!!

"He sets the lonely in families...."

Psalm 68:6
(Now the appointment just has to be secured at the US consulate
and then we can make travel arrangements. )
**Thank you to all of you who have prayed and prayed and prayed some more. God heard our prayers and our sweet baby girl will no longer long for a mommy and daddy of her own...she will be immersed in love to overflowing!! How we rejoice!!**

Defend the Orphan - Who To Call and/or Write

Please write and/or call Prime Minister Stephen Harper:

phone: (613) 992-4211

AND

Immigration Minister Jason Kenney:

phone: (613) 992-2235

Here's what to say:

You have been following friends through the adoption process and are concerned that the doors for adopted children from foreign countries are being closed by Canada. North Americans should be opening door to children coming into good, loving homes that have done everything by the book.

Please do not close the Immigration doors but process them quickly!!

Thank you dear friends. I will be calling tomorrow (Wednesday) and I will also call again on Friday. I will email both days as well. Dw will be calling and writing as well.

Please keep both phone calls and emails short and polite. If you have not done any "activism" before such as calling and voicing your thoughts - I challenge you to start with this!! You can then rest knowing, besides prayer (and/or fasting) you have done all you can do! Please continue to pray with fervor for these families!!

I do not believe that this will be the end of immigration issues....as I said two posts ago, we need to be praying for God's hand of mercy to be extended for international adoption.

Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the orphan. Fight for the rights of widows.
