Our Boatload of Dreams.....

Welcome to Our Place Called Simplicity.

We invite you into our lives with one goal in mind: that you would be encouraged to live simply and truly love one another.

Married for 33 years, we are the parents of many. Eleven {so far} children. Eight of whom are adopted. We also have four sons and a daughter that we are parents of in Uganda as well. They were raised on the streets and had no parents until we "adopted" them 3+ years ago. So we really have sixteen children total {with more on the way}.

After 7+ weeks in Uganda, Emma {18} and I recently returned to the United States with our newest addition - a baby girl named Ruby Grace. Dw and Emma were leading a missions team in June 2011 where they had the privilege of meeting Ruby - a tiny 11 month old gem weighing only 6 lbs.

Our oldest daughter Abigail and her husband finally{!} allowed us the privilege of being Mimi and Jaja by bringing us our very first grand baby {from Uganda}...making us now, officially, a multi-generational adoptive family. Proof that adoption is a very, very good thing!

We've had the privilege of adopting our treasures from all over the world, some dubbed "special needs" we are convinced that the only TRUE special need a child has is to have a family.

Our peers are empty nesters, but we are certain that given this option to any orphan - "old mom and dad" or "no mom and dad", all would still vote for the old ones. So here we are - the old ones....doing it again....

If you are need of encouragement or wonder if God is able to move your mountain, please head over to the sidebar where Special Posts are listed. Start at Our Wild Adventure Part 1. You will be reminded of Almighty God's deep love for the orphan and how He will move mountains on their behalf....we call Him the Miracle-Working, Mountain-Moving, Awe-Inspiring, Gasp-Giving God!! Yippee Jesus!!

I am humbled beyond words and ever so grateful that the Lord is fulfilling a promise He gave me way back in 1982..."making the barren woman to be at home - the joyful mother of children" (Psalms 113:9). How I praise His name!!

I'm Off

Pulling out in about 5 minutes.  Biopsy scheduled for 11:30 mst.  As much fun as I've heard it's supposed to be, I can't wait.  j/k

We're gonna' turn this into some fun.  Cracker Barrel after the biopsy.  Something to look forward to....pecan pancakes and real maple syrup.  Sounds good to me.

Seriously, it's supposed to be really painful.  I am no stranger to pain, but the thought of 5 needles being guided into my throat?  Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm.  I told Whitey, if they were guiding them into my bee-hind, go for it!  Take a bunch of stuff to biopsy.  There's padding there.

But throats are relatively scrawny.  So I'm voting they biopsy my bee-hind instead.

I'll be updating Twitter on the sidebar.  And we're off.....

You're so funny, Linny :) I was dreading about having to do a colonoscopy so reading you say you'd prefer needles in a bee-hind instead because it's got padding, got me laughing :)

Going to pray for you now, Linny.

well trust me you - me and my other sister have NOT let her forget that and we don't invite her to eat with us anymore. we enjoy cracker barrel and consider her a foodsnob. lol. mhmmmm cb biscuits ;)

oh and ive mentioned cb's low carb menu to her, but we still don't invite her. more biscuits for us.

was just checking in on you...saw your tweet about just waiting your turn. I have been praying, but will go gather the kids now. I'm sure you're kinda feeling like the way it does when you're on a gurnee getting wheeled down to the OR. Not a big drug person here...but that little whatever they give you for the trip down is nice. Hope you can have one too.

Linny, I am praying for God to just numb you from all of the pain and for it to be over quickly. He will be holding you in His arms during this. Remember He says that He never leaves us. I'm praying He sings over you while you are going through all of it. So glad that you have something fun to look forward to afterwards.

Thank you so much for praying for our sweet Tucker!! He's healed and doing great. Just a little tired:O) God just loves us so much and I'm so thankful that He cares about our little animals too:O)

Lots of love and prayers,
jenn

Linny, I am glad that part is over for you. I can not imagine how painful that would be! Now the next hard part - waiting to hear the results. I pray that God will give you the strength to endure the wait. He loves YOU like no other.

On to a happier note. How were those pancakes? I love Cracker Barrel pancakes!!! Wishing I had some right now.

Best wishes and love to an amazing lady!

Hi Linny, I've been thinking about you today and praying that the day went smoothly (and hopefully with very little pain). I'm glad you guys made plans to have some fun on the trip despite the biopsy appointment. Isn't Cracker Barrel delicious? The pecan pancakes with a side of turkey sausage is a favorite breakfast (or dinner) meal.

Keeping you in prayer and hoping you rest well!
